Black Ops 6 Season 2 outro cinematic reveals return of popular operator

Black Ops 6 players noticed a reference to a character in the Season 2 outro cinematic who hasn’t been in Call of Duty since Warzone in 2021.

Every Black Ops title has followed a connected storyline with a familiar cast of characters and foes. Black Ops 6 features three returning characters from previous Campaigns: Frank Woods, Russel Adler, and Helen Park.

The BO6 campaign takes place in the 1990s, set after the events of Black Ops, Cold War, and BO2. That timeline confirmed Alex Mason and Jason Hudson were dead. Hudson first appeared in the first Black Ops game as a CIA agent and was a supporting character in BO2 and Cold War.

Fans didn’t suspect we would ever see the popular character make a return, but a Season 3 trailer revealed otherwise.

In the Season 2 outro scene, Russell Adler gets a call from Frank Woods, and Woods reveals that Jason Hudson figured out a way to take out Pantheon, a terrorist organization in the Black Ops 6 campaign.

Woods did mention that Hudson is doing his job from the grave, implying that he is dead. However, Woods said a tape with Hudson’s name mysteriously appeared on his doorstep two years prior, not ruling out anything.

The tape has a date of 1989 on it, which is the same year Hudson died when he sacrificed his life at the hands of Raul Menendez to save Woods and Mason. It was later revealed that the primary BO6 antagonist, Jane Harrow, was the one who orchestrated their deaths by contacting Menendez.

The tape with Hudson’s name on it does not confirm his return in Season 3 but some players believe as much.

Call of Duty leaker TheGhostOfHope said, “Looks like this confirms Hudson as an operator for S3? Pretty sure he was leaked/datamined by somebody.”

This wouldn’t be the first time Hudson was brought back from the dead. In 2021, he got an operator bundle in Warzone and Black Ops Cold War.

Either way, we won’t know for sure what Treyarch has hidden up its sleeve until Season 3 starts on April 3.
